1. At the beginning of the project students will receive introductory materials, including a list of standards and objectives to be covered.
2. Each day, the standards and objectives for that day’s lesson will be written on the front board.
3. Each handout will state the standards and objectives addressed by the associated activity.

Plan for Communicating Standards From Students
1. Each student will keep a project journal, in which they will keep research notes, comments on class discussions, lab activities, and reflections. It will be a record of their journey through the project. The teacher will read the journals on a regular basis, using them as a type of formative assessment.
2. Each student will be expected to contribute to class discussions.
3. Each student will be expected to contribute equally to all group work, including activities, assignments, presentations and debates.
4. The teacher will circulate among the students on a daily basis, questioning each of them and drawing out their ideas, understandings, misconceptions, etc.
